Marchell Fletcher: A Dedicated Force for FLC
Dedication defines Marchell Fletcher's life. A Colorado native, she wanted to stay in her beloved home state for college, and her search for the perfect place to study geology culminated at Fort Lewis College.
Marchell was captivated by FLC's outdoor culture, intimate class size and ability to harness Colorado's sweeping landscape through its Earth Sciences programs. "Fort Lewis College helped form me, the things I think about and the way I am," she says.
FLC was also the place where Marchell learned to think outside the box. She gained an entrepreneurial spirit that led her to a 24-year career in the financial industry, where she owned her own insurance and financial planning business. During this time, she learned how easy it is to incorporate support in her estate for the places she loves the most—and one of those places is FLC.
A member of the FLC Alumni Board and the Foundation Board of Directors, Marchell is fully dedicated to her alma mater. "I've learned the ins and outs of the foundation, and how hard they work for the college," she explains.
This experience, coupled with her financial background, inspired her to make a future gift to FLC in her trust.
"It makes me feel proud to pay it forward and give back to an institution that gave a lot to me," she says. "I know when my gift comes to FLC, it will be administered professionally by the foundation that I trust."
Like Marchell, you, too, can provide for FLC's future through your will or other estate plan. Contact Jeff Jantz at jantz_j@fortlewis.edu or 970-247-7069 to learn more.
